Hi I’m Paula and I’m 29-years-old. I come from Mashan, Iran. Back in 1998 my family and I lived in Quebec City for 6 months and then my sister got homesick and my father didn’t feel like he belonged here so we moved back to Iran. I remember crying on the plane and 6 years ago I got a call from my sister who had been living in Toronto and she said Canada was accepting English teachers. The next day I applied and I’ve come a long way since then. I’ve fought three winters in Toronto now and pretty much all my life to get where I am today. This Thursday I’m taking my citizenship test. Today I’m proud, next week I’ll be a proud Canadian. Wish my luck, eh?
