My name is Kelly. I’m a native Montrealer. I moved to Toronto in March. I was living in Alberta for five years. I had decided to quit my job in advertising sales and travel Europe by myself. I sold all my things so when I moved to Toronto I had no furniture. I live in Liberty Village and I love living there. I do love the proximity to everything that’s fun about Toronto. I moved here and I was looking for work for three months. I was working five different jobs -not making much money though- because a lot of it was commission-based or self-sustaining work. I work for Bell Media in Media Creativity TV Sales and I love it. I’ve really transformed myself, I’ve really evolved here and I’m really happy to be here. I really enjoy Toronto. I think that a lot of people have a – hate is a strong word – but they have a distaste for Torontonians but I think any city is what you make of it. I got a lot of flack for leaving Edmonton and everyone said: “Why did you even live there?” It has a lot to do with the person. If you can’t go out there and project positivity and being kind-hearted, ‘do unto others as you would have done unto you,’ then obviously you’re going to get someone cold, people are going be people, but if you can project positivity then you’re a better person for it.
