Semco Salehi - I Am torontonianMy name is Gray Moonen; G-R-A-Y like the colour and Moonen like the moon. Today I was at a surgical conference at the University of Toronto and I presented my graduate work on the development of a lumbar spinal chord injury model in a rat – it’s a very clinically relevant injury model. The conference was good and I guess the keynote was about commercialization and how that’s a necessary thing for surgeon scientists to do. If you want to have a real impact in the medical community you have to be thinking ‘commercial’ which is an unfortunate thing but that’s just the way the medical world has evolved.
