Hi, I’m Steacy. I’ve lived in the Toronto area for 4 years, bordering on five, but I’ve lived in Toronto downtown core only since the end of November. I came from Waterloo, Ontario but I went to U of T because I lived in Waterloo for 18 years and I was ready for the big city and every time I was in Toronto it was just a different more exciting feeling. So I came here, and I’ve been loving it ever since. I’m a Commerce and Finance Major at U of T. I did that for 4 years – graduated thankfully. I thought I’d get a nice fun hat that I could throw but instead I got a weird hood like the Grim Reaper. It was kind of terrifying but it was all exciting, and then I got a job as a Reporting Analyst for Manulife Financial and I moved here just above Chinatown which I love because of all the colours and the bright lights, and the food and the multiculturalism and everything that’s so great about it. And we got rats because everywhere above Chinatown gets rats, it’s just Rat City, Ratsville. So, we got a cat cause we thought that’s gonna take care of the rat problem and the cat just doesn’t like to do anything. It hides in the closet and then during the day it moves out to behind the couch where it will sit for 8 hours and meow at you. So you know it’s there but it doesn’t want to look at you or do anything and then it just goes back in the closet and it does nothing about the rats.
-Maybe the cat is just afraid of the rats?
-Maybe! It’s afraid of all people and everything so I wouldn’t be surprised. So we have the most useless cat ever and other than that I’ve just been kind of enjoying Toronto; looking at the CN Tower every chance I get, going skating, and enjoying being in a city that’s so vibrant and multicultural.
